First, check your charter status
If you are unsure about charter status:
Check if you have a charter at your school. Please remember if the school already has a charter, it is valid for the lifetime of the school. See our listing online by state.
If your school has a charter:
The next step is easy — find students to induct. More information can be found below. If you have a dormant charter, it automatically reactivates when you initiate members. Here is a helpful link:
If your school does not have a charter:
Not a problem. Just fill out the charter application and order the charter. We require full payment for new charters prior to sending. Once the charter is established, we will ship membership materials after receiving a purchase order.
Next, identify members
In order to be inducted, students must meet qualifications as outlined in the resources below.
Either advisers can check academic eligibility or present the information to the group as a whole. You could outline the requirements and then let students know your process.
If you would like, students may fill out an application or have them individually show you how they qualify. Here is an example application you can use. Once the adviser has determined eligibility, order memberships and any other Quill and Scroll memorabilia (graduation honor cords, diploma seals, patches, stickers, etc.).

Make sure to send in your complete membership order (and not just the spreadsheet) at least three weeks before your induction so we have time to fulfill it.
