Chinese students earn awards in 2024-25 Quill and Scroll China Writing, Visual and Multimedia Contest
In 2018, Quill and Scroll partnered with ASEEDER to begin a journalism contest for students in that country. That first year (2018-19), students from China submitted more than 200 entries for that contest. The best of those entries were then put into the international Writing, Photo and Multimedia Contest.
In the 2023-24 contest that just wrapped up, the number of entries totaled 328. The winners in the 2023-24 Quill and Scroll China journalism contest are listed below.
In the 2024-25 contest, students will follow the new advancement scheme: International Open—Asia Invitational—Gloria Shields International Media Conference.
International Open
Students should follow the requirement to submit their entry before November 24th, 2024.
Asia Invitational
Asia Invitational, which will be held Feb. 5-8, 2025, in Hong Kong (SAR), aims to gather and inspire the most talented Asian teenagers who are interested in media. At the Asia Invitational, students will participate in media workshops ranging from basic to advanced, culminating in the mastery of modern media skills. They will compete in a team challenge, which will utilize their media skills in a real-life situation as they capture the pulse of the city through both the lens and words. During the event, students will also have the chance to display their work to a wider audience to show their creativity and talent, and to get exciting feedback from industry experts and the audience.
The qualified students from the International Open will be invited to attend the Asia Invitational.
Gloria Shields International Media Conference
Students who excel at the Asia Invitational are invited to travel to the United States to attend the Gloria Shields International Media Conference in the summer of 2025. Please find more information soon.
