Quill and Scroll conducts writing, photo, multimedia, blogging and yearbook competitions each year.
Currently enrolled high school students are invited to enter the International Writing, Photo and Multimedia Contest and Blogging Competition. International Writing, Photo and Multimedia Sweepstakes winners receive a plaque. Blogging Competition winners receive a digital badge. Individual winners receive Quill and Scroll’s National Award Gold Key and, as seniors, are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
A separate competition for middle school students also is available.
Winners of the Quill and Scroll Yearbook Excellence Contest are eligible as seniors to apply for a scholarship. Any member school is eligible to enter regardless of which company published the yearbook in any given year.

These awards honor high school journalism programs that excelled in the International Writing, Photo and Multimedia Contest or in the Yearbook Excellence Contest. As a participant in either of these contests, school’s media staffs are automatically given entry to this contest.
