Ad Rates for Educators
Quill & Scroll is the largest circulation periodical devoted exclusively to scholastic journalism. The magazine’s primary audience, which exceeds 8,000 readers, is comprised of high achieving scholastic journalism students and their teachers. The magazine is sent directly to individual students and teachers, twice a year, and is made available online. We believe this audience may be of great interest to you as potential attendees of your summer workshops and/or participants in other programs.
Each year, Quill & Scroll has featured the promotional advertisements of summer journalism workshops, in addition to editorial content addressing related topics. Recent advertisers include Indiana University High School Journalism Institute, the University of Iowa and the University of Alabama summer workshops.
The Spring issue will feature summer journalism workshops in time to assist teachers and students in planning their summer. To facilitate this, we are extending discounted ad rates as listed below. We also are introducing an option to get the word out about your workshop to our target audience. For $100, you can include your workshop in a listing of summer workshops to be published in the magazine and online.
The advertising DEADLINE for the Spring issue is March 1. Distribution is April 1. Fall issue DEADLINE is September 20. Distribution is November 1.
We offer these SPECIAL RATES to summer workshop advertisers, for full color or black and white ads. Full color is available on all pages:

1/6 page ad = $160
1/3 page ad = $270 (2.75” x 10.875” or 3.625” x 8.25”)
1/2 Page ad = $390 (4.125” x 10.875” or 8.25” x 5.4375”)
Full page ad = $740
COVERS: Back, 3/4 page = $925
Inside, front or back . . . . . = $915
We prefer receiving the ad as a tif, jpg or pdf via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Workshop listings can be sent in one of those formats if special fonts and colors are used; or simply send the name of the workshop by email. Those opting to advertise in both the Fall and Spring issues receive an additional 10 percent DISCOUNT. The Fall issue features colleges and topics of interest to students planning to attend college and study journalism. On notice from you, we will reserve display ad space in the appropriate issue(s); requests for display locations within the magazine(s) will be honored when possible.
